The Advance Editor in the new MySpace Web 2.0 allows you to edit everything on your page. With this editor, you can manually change the text colors in modules, you can change the background of your profile, and more. In this tutorial, I will show you how to use each section of the Advance Editor in MySpace Web 2.0.
Opening Your Customizing Panel in MySpace
To begin, you will need to open your Customizing Panel in MySpace. Login to your account and click hover over your Profile link at the top of your page. Once the menu drops down, click the Customize Profile link. That will open your profile page, along with your Customizing Panel.
You will also need to open your Advance Editor. On the far left side of the Customizing Panel, you will need to click the Appearance link. In the middle panel, you will need to click the Advanced Edit link. That will open a new panel and in that panel you will see all of the options for the advance edit. Now we will take a look at each one.
Background
First, we will take a look at the background options. So, click the background link in the third panel. In the last panel, you will see the options for your background. You can choose a background color, image, position it, and choose if you want the background to repeat. If you want to use an image for the background, you will have to upload the image and copy the url for the image. Then you will have to paste the url in the url field. To use a solid color, simply click the color box and select your color. Then drop the other two boxes down and make your selections.
Content
Next, we will take a look at the content options. So, click the Content link to view these options. In the last panel, you will see the options you have for the content. The first section is the background section. You can use a solid color for the background of your content or you can use an image. Again, if you want to use an image, you must upload it like before. Then select your other options from the drop down menu. You can see your changes as you are making them. The background color and image is positioned behind your content boxes and that will change the look of your modules.
The next section is the Border and Padding section. This section will change the color, size, and padding of your border. Adjust these settings to what you want. You will be able to see your changes as you are making them.
Modules
The next option is the modules option. Click the Modules link and you will see your options in the last panel. These options are the exact same as the content options. The only difference is you are working with the inside of the modules. So, edit this section the same way you edited the content section. You can also see the changes with this section as you are making them.
Module Headers
The module headers will determine how the top of your boxes will look. With this option, you can change the background color of the header, the text color, text style, and more. The fields in this section are pretty self explanatory. Go through each field and change it to what you want. You can view your changes as you are making them.
Module Body
This is the text and background inside the modules. You can change the text color, style, size, and more in this panel. You can also change the color of links and rollover links. You will see all of your options in the last panel. Go through the options and make the changes you want. Watch your modules change as you make changes.
Once you are finished editing your profile, you will need to save it. To save your changes, click the Publish button in the top right corner of your browser. Then you will be asked where you want to go. Click one of the buttons to make your choice and close the box.
